A quick "about me" from your friendly web guy
This is David Price (yes, Marjorie's son) and my role is usually behind the scenes. After all, web development, handling e-commerce stuff, and responding to internet marketing opportunities doesn't usually involve the public, right?
I'm also a graduate student, studying to receive my M.S. in information technology - luckily the stuff I'm learnig is all very relevant. That said, the site, its functionality, and its ease-of-use will probably all improve as I improve.
News about the product section
Some of you may have noticed a restructuring of the product section. I won't go into the details - although if you're interested feel free to email me and ask - but the moral is that it is now more user-friendly, less explanatory, and less...muddled.
I also discovered a way to integrate the downloadable products into the main site. What I mean by this is this: if someone wants to purchase a downloadable item, she doesn't need to go through the Payloadz service in such an explicit way. This is another way of saying that purchasing a downloadable product - an MP3 for instance - will be essentially the same as the process for purchasing a mail-order CD. Good news, right?
That feature will be fully implemented by the end of the week. Product descriptions will then be assessed and edited as necessary so that you get as much information about them. I'll keep you updated as we progress.
Some of you may have noticed in the last Centering newsletter that we allowed interested people to sign up online, right here, for the July 21 event (go here to read and/or sign up, there's still time!) This is something we're going to continue to do. There are a few reasons for this:
1) assuming a certain level of skill, signing up for an event online is simply easier
2) processing is faster, once the transaction goes through Paypal (and its usually almost instant), you're all set, so the whole thing is faster
I encourage people to - should they feel comfortable - go ahead and sign up online when it's convenient for them. Obviously you can still email or call Marjorie if you have questions about the event, or feel free to email me with technical questions, questions about privacy, or anything really.
A tangent: Centering and customer relationship management
Centeringtools.com is starting to find a niche online, and that's evident from our growing performance in measurements of web site visibility and so forth, what we want to do now is maintain a good relationship with our regulars because while the internet visiblity is good, this practice was founded and continues to thrive (since the late 80's!) on customer relationship management.
That said, if you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the web-side of the Centering practice, I can usually respond in 1-2 business days, if not much faster.
